Volleyball - Girls (V) vs. American School of Milan (ASM)

Event Type: Scrimmage

Date: September 24, 2018

Event Recap:

On Monday, September 24, the TASIS Tigers traveled to ASM for the first time this season. After a record of 2 wins and 2 losses against them last year, the girls were fired up to start off the season with a win against their rivals. The first set was a seesaw game between the two teams. Both squads led with strong serves penetrating the other team’s defense. Captains Virginia Italia ’19 and Alexandra Pohl ’19 led the team with serving streaks. Cristina Estevez ’19 and Jennifer Kraemer ’20 continued to deliver strong attacks against ASM, but, true to the opposing team’s consistently relentless defense, they dove for every ball hit at them. TASIS still managed to break through the ASM wall and clinched the first set at 26–24. The girls managed to maintain this momentum throughout the rest of the game, winning the second set 25–20 and final set 15–9. The team is excited to start off the rivalry this year with a win and looks forward to hosting ASM during Family Weekend.
