TASIS 2 - 2 ICSZ
TASIS 1 - 2 ZIS
TASIS 0 - 5 ISB
TASIS 0 - 1 ISZL
The Tigers traveled to Zurich for their first match of the season at the ISSL Tournament. When the opening whistle blew at 16:30, the boys charged full speed ahead. Although the Tigers dominated the field, ISCZ managed to get on the board first with a fortunate goal. But the Tigers pounced pack and scored twice, once in the first half on a Mikail Shahid '19 penalty and again on a line drive crack from Guiseppe Tola '19. TASIS maintained the lead until the last five minutes, when ISCZ deposited a shot from outside the 18 to equalize the game. The final score was a 2-2 draw.
After dinner and a good night's rest, TASIS was more motivated than ever to take to Saturday's matches. The boys played their first game at 9:00 against ZIS (the reining SGIS champions) and persevered through a 2-1 loss, with the goal scored by Darius Pavel '19 and excellent shots unloaded by Adrian Esmoris '20. Even with a disallowed penalty and a retracted goal off a free kick, the boys played with heart and morale was up.
With tired legs, the Tigers couldn't keep up in their match against ISB. Nevertheless Enzo Tondo '20 had many incredible saves and proved himself one of the top new additions to the team.
The fourth game was intense. TASIS was running on fumes matched up against ISZL, which was only playing its second match, the Tigers played their strongest and most fundamentally sound game yet. Emiliano Rodriguez '21 and Enzo Allanson '21 held strong as center backs holding off the attacks. Patryk Herok '20, on the pitch for the first time out of goal, proved a solid asset in the midfield. The boys endured a 1-0 loss but came away from ISSL feeling that they gave it their all.
