The turnout for the NISSA Championships was so large that in the end the team competed in a number of individual races, all of them running 1.9 km over a flat, but gnarly course. ISC, the event organisers, did a fantastic job in placing us strategically so that we were able to cheer on our team mates in each and every race, while tucking in to healthy snacks during the day!
Everyone gave of their best, and contributed equally to the team's camaraderie and positive energy. Different from just running as individuals, we were there as a team; it makes it so much more fun when we are there to cheer and support each other through the good and the hard times!
That said, we did have three runners on the podium, who do indeed deserve a hard pat on the back, and our admiration—well done!
Kyla Bodnar '25, second in the Girls Grades 6–7 race
Max Sulla '25 second in the Boys Grade 8 race
Sarah McClellan '24 Champion yet again, in the Girls Grade 8 race
