Tuesday, October 23, saw TASIS host the annual NISSA Middle School Cross Country Running Championships. This year there was a large field of 61 competitors from four schools, with TASIS competing against the Amercian School of Milan (ASM), the German School of Milan (DSM), and St. Louis School of Milan (SLM). It was a beautiful autumn afternoon to run, and many members of the team improved upon their personal best on their home course. Times are listed below:
Kyla Bodnar 10th: 13:55 (Personal best!)
Anna Companion 11th: 14:42 (Personal best!)
Bill Zhang 12th: 12:20
Max Lim 13th: 12:27
Max Sulla 18th: 13:03 (Personal best!)
Denis Voedovin 19th: 13:06 (Personal best!)
Edoardo Vasino 27th: 14:19 (Personal best!)
Marco Preatoni 30th: 15:19 (Personal best by more than one minute!)
Platon Bukharin 33th: 18.47
We were thrilled to discover at the end of the afternoon that our boys' team won second place overall in the team event! As coaches, we were particularly impressed by Bill’s determination, Max Sulla’s turn of speed, Max Lim’s motivational words, Platon’s cheerful attitude, Marco’s great humor, Kyla and Anna’s support for each other, and Denis’s huge improvement over his early form. Thank you, team, for finishing the 2018 race season on such a high note!
