Basketball - Girls (MS) vs. American School of Milan (ASM)

Event Type: Regular

Date: February 7, 2019

Event Recap:

The Middle School Girls Basketball team had its final game of the season on February 7—a rematch against the American School of Milan (ASM). This time TASIS had the home-court advantage. As a small team of six up against the 14 athletes of ASM, the TASIS girls had to work hard. They played a strong offensive game—attacking the basket, playing aggressively, and moving the ball efficiently—and emerged with an eye-opening 36-8 win.

Sayaka Shiraishi '23 as point guard developed creative plays, generated picks, supported her teammates, and put the ball in the basket. ASM played a tougher game this time, but that didn't stop Nika Grigorian '23, who responded with aggressive defense and made almost all her free throws. TASIS played with focus and confidence. They all improved on their defense from last game and were not afraid to take more risks on offense, especially Lea Le Mat '23 and Arya Kelley '24, who took some strong shots from near the 3-point line.

Congratulations to the girls for a well-deserved win and a successful season! They will be a very promising group as they progress in the coming years.
