Teams depart

The Junior Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to the ISSL Tournament in Zug on Friday, and due to an accident in the Gotthard Tunnel, they were not able to play the first match of the tournament. The next day the Tigers played their first match against ZIS and performed quite decently. The motivation was high throughout the first half, where our boys managed to go toe-to-tow with ZIS and score two goals (from Kieran Depiero '21 and Leopoldo Sucre Visani ’22). In the second half, the Tigers started to lack some physical condition as well as concentration and were not able to keep their positions as expected. Unfortunately, this gave the ZIS boys the chance to score many times and eventually win the match.

The Tigers confronted ICS next, and this game was very pleasant to watch and balanced in terms of technical abilities. Both the teams managed to find a rhythm and create attacking opportunities, with Kieran Depiero '21 scoring a beautiful goal.

The Tiger confronted ISB next, but at this point the team was already struggling with its physical condition and a few players asked to start as substitutes on the bench. This created a few issues in controlling the game and being able to perform at the other team's rhythm. Toward the end of the first half, the Tigers down to eight players and the referee agreed to continue the game with eight players a side. Hopefully, this will serve as a constructive experience for our boys to do better and practice more in the future. All in all, it was a great weekend and we had fun!
