Volleyball - Boys (V)
vs. American School of Milan (ASM)
|Date:||October 14, 2017|
The Varsity Boys Volleyball team kept its undefeated record intact with a win over the American School of Milan at home on Saturday.
The first set saw huge momentum swings for both teams, with the Tigers nearly squandering a comfortable 21-14 lead. With some creative serving and attacks from seniors Can Basaran ’18 and Nicola Barbieri ’18, the Tigers were able to stop the Pather rally and finish the set at 25-23.
For the second set, the Tigers built another big lead but this time kept the pressure on. Rookie middle Cem Koprulu ’19 led the attack with a series of spikes and blocks, as well as a few key defensive plays. Junior setter/outside Nadir Timerbaev ’19 also had a tremendous game, racking up a number of assists and kills and keeping the Panthers on the defensive with a strong serve. TASIS closed the set 25-10 to notch their fourth win of the season.
TASIS will meet ASM later this season at home for the European Sports Conference (ESC) championship and again in Milan at the Northern International School Sports Association (NISSA) tournament in late November.
