|Basketball - Boys (V)|
|Date:||January 11, 2018|
After having lost to ASM at home in the season's first game, in overtime, this game was an opportunity for the Varsity Boys to take some revenge. It was, as expected, a tight and hard-fought game, and TASIS trailed 26-18 at the half. Collectively, the boys did many little things better on both ends of the court beginning in the second half, particularly on defense, and they outscored ASM 19-6 in the third quarter to take the lead heading into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was dominated by TASIS, outscoring the opponents 12-6. Along with hitting some key shots on offense, the team applied tight zone defense. None of those key shots made were more important than the two 3-pointers in the final minutes of the game from captain Nick Barbieri '18, who finished the game with a team-high 14 points. Other primary contributors to this well-earned team victory were Cem Koprulu '19 with 11 points, Can Basaran '18 with 8, and Pablo Rivero '20 with 5.
