Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.

A Notice from the Health and Wellness Center

The flu, cold, and gastro season is upon us, and we urge all parents to keep their children at home if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • fever greater than 37.5 °C (100 °F)
  • continuous coughing not relieved with cough medicine
  • nasal congestion
  • vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours

Viruses are spread when people come in close contact with sick people and inhale airborne contaminants or come in contact with contaminated surfaces.

Prevention is the key to spreading the viruses. The best prevention is to teach your children to wash their hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer, especially before eating and after using the bathroom.

Other preventative measures include the following:

  • covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue (dispose of the tissue afterward) or using an elbow or arm if no tissue is available
  • not sharing drinks, food, or unwashed utensils
  • getting plenty of rest, eating healthy foods, and drinking lots of water and healthy drinks (not soda)
  • avoiding sick people and staying at home when sick
  • disinfecting surfaces that are prone to germs, such phones, keyboards, and door knobs

We take the health of our students seriously and work hard to keep viruses from spreading, but we need your help and cooperation to be successful. Thank you!
