More than 50 alumni met up in Florida at a lovely venue on April 8, 2017. The cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception at Miami Beach's Smith & Wollensky was excellent and much enjoyed by those in attendance. Perfect weather allowed guests to linger on the balcony and enjoy the occasional views of departing cruise liners drifting past.
Attendees ranged from faculty members dating back to the 1960s to alumni from the 2000s. Despite some air travel hiccups due to storms in Atlanta, nearly everyone made it to the reunion.
Jen Greene '74 was happily able to rebook in order to join the 70s crowd, which was well-represented and organized several extra events, including a welcome evening at the home of Daisy Bilbao '76 on Thursday and a trip to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens followed by dinner on Friday. The 70s luncheon at Joe's Stone Crab on Saturday preceded the All-Class Reunion that evening, where Dan Higgins '74 served as our official photographer. Thank you, Dan!
It was wonderful to see alumni from different programs and years chatting and getting to know each other, such as Jenny Antonelli TSLP '01 and TASIS Hellenic alumni. Director of Institutional Advancement Bill Eichner gave a presentation focused on Mrs. Fleming's "Recipe for a School" (from the MCF: What a Life! musical) that was well-received. Happily, TASIS relationships are flourishing in the area, and there is even interest in creating a Miami/South Florida chapter to keep alumni connected.
