Around 120 alumni attended an all-class reunion at the Swiss Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, D.C., which truly lived up to its name: there were attendees from all six decades, encompassing a Swiss Holiday alum from 1959 and coming right up to an alumna from the class of 2011. A number of summer programs alumni and past faculty from a variety of years were also in attendance. Those who did not find someone they knew from their year(s) at TASIS soon found themselves making new friends with alumni from other decades, or perhaps with some of the Embassy personnel, who enjoyed renewing their acquaintance with the TASIS community. In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Manuel Sager paid tribute to Mrs. Fleming’s pioneering achievements in education, and the strength of the School’s community. Although the ultra-modern Swiss Residence looks nothing like a chalet, the buffet featuring Swiss specialties acted as a tasty reminder of Switzerland. Many thanks to the Embassy staff for their warm welcome and helpfulness, and to everyone who attended, whether from near or far (including Hawaii!). Thanks to you, this was another great reunion!
