November 23, 2013 saw a hundred TASIS alumni make their way to Columbia University's Casa Italiana for the annual all-class reunion in New York. Special guest Horst Dürrschmidt was in great demand, and enjoyed seeing how those erstwhile teenagers he knew from the photo lab, the dorms, and in-pro travel had turned into responsible adults with kids they might like to send to TASIS! Many hugs were exchanged and memories relived, and great stories were told spanning most of the TASIS history, with alumni from the high school class of 1961 right through to 2013 in attendance. There were even a couple of people who attended Swiss Holiday in the 50s, the precursor to TASIS. The 70s group came out in force, and enjoyed connecting with young alumni who could tell them what to expect when they return to campus for the 40th anniversary of the class of 1974 in summer 2014. The weather provided a few surprises, with a drastic drop in temperature during the evening and icy blasts blowing the huge floor-to-ceiling windows open three times. But people hardly noticed – a sure sign of folks engrossed in having a good time!
