Did You know? - Terry Fox discovered he had a malignant tumour in his right leg; the leg was amputated 15 centimetres (six inches) above the knee. The night before his amputation he read about an amputee runner and dreamt of running.
Did You know? - In the month of February 1979 – Terry began training for his Marathon of Hope, running across Canada to raise money for Cancer Research and Awareness. During his training he ran over 5,000 kilometres (3,107 miles).
