TASIS Set To Begin 2023–2024 Academic Year With a Record 768 Students from 67 Nations

For the second consecutive year, TASIS will open a new academic year with record enrollment. We offer a closer look at some of the key facts and figures related to this year’s student body.

By the numbers

TASIS The American School in Switzerland has opened the new academic year with 684 students from 57 nations. Below we offer a closer look at the 2021–2022 TASIS student body.

206

students are new to TASIS.

478

students have returned to TASIS, marking a retention rate of 87 percent.

19

students are the children of TASIS alumni—the highest number in our 66-year history!

When a family is introduced to TASIS through an alumnus, we know the applicant already understands something important about the culture of the school.

Nearing the Finish Line

The Class of 2022 will be a bit larger than last year’s graduating class (105 compared to 102). Next year’s graduating class projects to be even bigger, as grade 11 is currently the largest in the School with 127 students.

Home Away From Home

A total of 255 students (51 percent of all Middle and High School students) reside in one of the nine dormitories on campus.

We aren’t looking for one type of student. There are countless different pathways through TASIS, but they all share the TASIS experience.

Emily McKee, Director of Admissions

The School of Choice

The 427 applications our Admissions Office received for the 2021–2022 academic year represent an increase of eight percent from last year and are the most since 2013. The pandemic prevented Director of Admissions Emily McKee, who in a typical year flies all over the world, from making a single admissions trip last year. She and her team did, however, host 580 virtual visits!
