Please note that your total years of teaching experience should be calculated with respect to the criteria reported below:

  • A year of full-time teaching is defined as carrying a full-time teaching load within a school (university or PK-12)
  • Part-time assignments should be calculated at your designated percentage (e.g. two years of a 50% teaching load = 1 year of full-time teaching).
  • All non-teaching activities (e.g. store manager, accountant, etc.) should not be considered in the calculation of the years of experience as a teacher. The same applies to activities such as short-term substitute teaching, tutoring, dorm parenting,coaching, and serving as an administrator.
    Please do not include these activities in the calculation of your total years of teaching experience.
