Campus Reopening Guidelines

Dear TASIS Community,

We are excited to welcome back our Elementary and Middle School day students and teachers on May 25 and are pleased to share our Campus Reopening Guidelines, which we ask you to carefully review. I would also like to take this opportunity to repeat the goals of our return to campus this spring:

  • Structure a safe return to school for everyone involved.
  • Practice new school safety routines prior to the start of the 2020-2021 academic year in August 2020.
  • Pursue end-of-year academic projects related to the curriculum.
  • Enhance the school community by providing opportunities for in-person engagement between students and with teachers.
  • Provide an opportunity to bring closure to the school year in a positive and healthy manner.

It is important that everyone in the community reads and understands the safety protocols outlined in our Campus Reopening Guidelines. Please note that this document was created in cooperation with the safety consultant company ProCert AG and that it will be periodically reviewed and updated as needed. If you have any questions about our plans, please contact Middle School Dean of Student Affairs MJ Breton, and if you have any questions about the academic expectations of our return, please contact Lower School Head Tim Fitzgerald or Assistant Elementary Head Guia Berera.

Please also note that we will hold mandatory online meetings for all ES and MS students

who will be returning to campus when school resumes on May 25. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss social distancing, hygiene, and other expectations. Specific details will be sent to you by divisional leaders in advance of the meetings, but please note that they will be held at the following times:

  • Middle School: Wednesday, May 20, from 10:30-11:30
  • Elementary School: May 21 and May 22 from 8:30-9:00. Students must attend both meetings, and children in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and grade 1 must have one parent attend with them.

I would like to again express my gratitude to the entire TASIS community for your indomitable spirit during this time and share my excitement for approaching this milestone of a safe return to campus. As the poet Shelley said, "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" I look forward to a beautiful, safe spring on campus with all of you. See you soon.

All the best,

Christopher Nikoloff
TASIS Headmaster
