Guided by Director Valerie Bijur Carlson, the TASIS High School Theater Company delivered three excellent performances of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol in the Palmer Center over the weekend of November 15–17. ![]() Spotlight on Academic Travel TASIS pioneered the concept of Academic Travel in 1956, and to this day all Middle School and High School students have the opportunity to make Europe their classroom twice each year.
During the last week of October, groups traveled to Baad (Outward Bound), Vienna (AP Art History and Music History) London (University Visits), Berlin (Performing Arts and German Homestay), Florence (Modern History and Honors World Literature), Mantova (Grade 6 trip), Rome (Art History and Theory of Knowledge), Trapani (Italian Homestay), Venice (Photography and IB Visual Arts), the Azores (IB Environmental Systems) Lisbon (History and Culture), Salamanca (Spanish Homestay), Bern/Geneva (IB/AP Physics), Geneva (Grade 8 trip), Lausanne/Gruyères (Grade 7 trip), Montreaux (French Homestay), and Zurich (IB Biology).
Our student writers and videographers chronicled some of the action: Alexia Dochnal '22 reflects upon the Honors World Literature Academic Travel trip to Florence, in which she and her classmates explored the homeland of the incomparable Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
Joy Mack '21 discusses the IB/AP Physics Academic Travel trip to Bern and Geneva, where students had the unique opportunity to visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and tour a number of prominent energy plants.
Jane Wilson '22 shares some of her favorite memories from the many school trips she has been on since starting at TASIS in 2013.
Kelly Zhao '21 created this engaging video about the IB Environmental Systems and Societies trip to the Azores, a stunning archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean west of continental Portugal.
The TASIS "Mo Bros" have now released seven music videos and raised more than CHF 10,000 for the Movember Foundation, a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, and longer lives. Check out their latest production and learn more about the Movember movement at TASIS.

More than 100 alumni congregated at the Swiss Embassy in London for the first All-TASIS reunion in London since TASIS Switzerland and TASIS England co-celebrated their 50-year and 30-year anniversaries back in 2005.
