TASIS Robotics Team Proudly Represents Switzerland at World Festival
FIRST Robotics Championship in Houston

A total of 35,140 teams from 110 different countries participated in the 2022 FIRST LEGO League Challenge, and just 108 qualified to compete at the FIRST Championship World Festival in Houston, Texas, over the course of April 20–23. Congratulations to Coach Amy Bloodworth, the 2016 recipient of the Khan-Page Master Teacher Award, and the inspiring all-female team of Serafina Ballerini ’26, Olivia Canga ’26, Maddy Costa Felix ’26, Mariaurora Rosso ’24, and Diana Xiao ’26 for this incredible accomplishment!

The trip was an amazing experience, both on and off the robotics mats, and the members of the team were excited to share what they learned upon their return. In the video below, Coach Bloodworth and the students discuss several highlights of the journey, including the following:

  • What it felt like to compete in the “Olympics of robotics”
  • The adrenaline rush that came with competing in such an intense environment
  • What it was like to visit NASA, which included seeing the control room for the Apollo 11 landing and getting a private tour with veteran astronaut Tony Antonelli
  • How inspired they were by other groups at the festival, and how the older teams in particular have motivated them to continue to grow the TASIS Robotics Program and get back to the world festival next year
