All-Class Reunion | San Francisco

After a 19-month delay and a series of four hoped-for dates on the calendar, on October 14 it was at last possible to send out the usual pre-reunion info message to eager attendees in San Francisco announcing, “The countdown is ON!!” More than 50 took advantage and joined us at the first post-pandemic, all-class reunion, fittingly held at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco—it was slated to host a gathering on March 14, 2020, which had to be canceled at short notice as the world hunkered down for the first lockdowns in response to Covid.

Those present covered all decades and all schools, ranging from the early 60s to the 2010s and including alumni whose TASIS experience was in Switzerland, England, or Greece, as well as a handful of former faculty. It was a true community-wide event.

The view of the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge set the scene for a mellow evening of socializing and networking too. Some alumni met classmates at the reunion while others made new connections. Four members of the Class of 2001 were there to start on a series of reunions to celebrate their 20th anniversary and discuss how and where to bring a bigger group together. All classes ending in ‘0’ and ‘1’ have been in this situation and, while there’s still uncertainty, it’s great to see things starting to happen.

A big “thank you” to Bill Gage SH’63, who found a yacht club member to sponsor us and make this lovely venue available. We’re glad to be back in business with reunions!
