Established in 2017 by Ms. Julie Frazier-Smith, Sweet November Dance Company (SNDC)—now known as TASIS Dance to reflect the school’s growing array of dance offerings—has performed for the TASIS community eleven times, most recently in the 2024 Spring Arts Festival performing arts showcase, Dream, and last November, when the company created original storytelling, scenes, and choreography inspired by Aimee Nezhukumatathil’s New York Times bestselling book World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments at its 2023 fall concert, World of Wonders.

Our comprehensive programs—spanning Concert Dance, Aerial/Contemporary Dance, Street Jazz, Performing Arts, and Competition Dance—empower students to explore their unique artistic voices while developing technical excellence and confidence. Through collaboration and innovation, we celebrate the transformative power of dance, encouraging each student to grow both as a performer and an individual. Together, we cultivate a lifelong love of dance and the performing arts.

Our Offerings

Concert Dance
Directed by Julie Frazier-Smith
Concert Dance (HS) focuses on developing advanced technical skills, artistry, and performance quality. This program challenges dancers to explore diverse dance forms, combining classical and contemporary styles to create dynamic and expressive choreography. Students refine their technique and stage presence while engaging in the creative process of dance-making, pushing their limits both physically and artistically.

Competition Dance
Directed by Guilherme Frugoni and Julie Frazier-Smith
Competition Dance (HS) is designed for dancers eager to elevate their skills to the next level. This program emphasizes technical excellence, precision, and performance under pressure, preparing students for competitive dance events. Dancers engage in intensive training across various styles, including pom and contemporary dance, mastering choreography while developing the resilience and teamwork necessary to excel in the competitive arena.

Performing Arts Class
Taught by Julie Frazier-Smith
The Performing Arts Class (HS) is an interdisciplinary course that integrates dance, theater, and music. Students are encouraged to explore multiple art forms, learning how they intersect and influence one another. Through practical application and research, students choose a discipline for deeper exploration, leading to individual presentations and group performances that showcase their diverse talents.

Aerial/Contemporary Dance
Directed by Julie Frazier-Smith
Aerial/Contemporary Dance (ES, MS, and HS) blends the fluidity and expression of contemporary dance with the strength and creativity of aerial arts. Dancers explore movement both on the ground and in the air, building core strength, coordination, and flexibility. The unique fusion of these styles allows students to express themselves in innovative ways while mastering new techniques in a supportive and challenging environment.

Street Jazz
Directed by Guilherme Frugoni
Street Jazz (ES) combines the high-energy elements of jazz dance with the dynamic movements of street styles. This program encourages dancers to develop their rhythm, coordination, and precision while embracing the fun and energetic nature of street dance. Students will perform bold, vibrant routines that bring together creativity, musicality, and technical skill.

Commercial Hip Hop 
Directed by Guilherme Frugoni
Commercial Hip Hop (ES) dance is an energetic style rooted in street culture, featuring movements like breaking, locking, and popping. This program emphasizes rhythm, coordination, and musicality through engaging choreography that reflects the vibrant essence of Hip Hop. Students are encouraged to express their individuality and connect with the music, showcasing their unique styles in a fun and dynamic environment.

Ballet 
Directed by Julie Frazier-Smith
Ballet is a foundational class for young dancers, focusing on the mastery of basic positions, steps, and essential techniques. This program emphasizes proper posture, balance, and musicality, providing students with the skills needed to express themselves through movement. Dancers engage in fun and structured training, building confidence and discipline while fostering a lifelong love for dance. Through this nurturing environment, students develop creativity and grace, laying the groundwork for their future dance journeys.
