On November 1, a pair of ninth graders traversed the slope connecting lower and upper campus. This seldom-used area of campus will soon be developed to include more classrooms, dormitory space, and a music center. Learn more about the Master Plan for the TASIS campus.
On November 1 and 2, High School students and faculty members departed campus for 18 Academic Travel trips spread out across 14 cities in seven countries. For nearly a week, students dove deeply into their studies while exploring the following destinations across Europe: Austria (Vienna and Baad), Czech Republic (Prague), France (Paris), Germany (Nuremberg), Italy (Florence, Liguria, Modena, Rome, and Venice), Malta (Mdina), and Switzerland (Geneva, Leysin, and Zurich). For their Fall Academic Travel trip, Middle School students journeyed to Gstaad for four days of outdoor adventure. In the beautiful mountains, forests, and lakes of western Switzerland, students and faculty chaperones worked together to complete team-building challenges, navigate high ropes courses, climb rock walls, build rafts, and much more! For the first time since last winter, snow could be seen on the peaks surrounding campus on November 7.
Members of the Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball team celebrated an ace en route to an undefeated record at the invitational tournament they hosted on November 8. See more photos.

To cap a season full of achievements, all six TASIS fall varsity teams placed in the top five at the European Sports Conference (ESC) Championships in mid November. Read recaps of the tournaments.
At the ESC Cross Country Championship on November 12, Emmanuel Lemelson '24 charged to the lead at the midpoint of the 6-kilometer course and never looked back. He ran the second half of the race solo and bested the field by 19 seconds to win a gold medal. Lemelson also finished 5th in the 3-kilometer race the day before and was crowned ESC individual champion for having the fastest combined time for the two championship races!
Middle School dancers performed for their peers during assembly on November 16, providing a sneak look at their piece before their concert with Sweet November Dance Company the following week.
On November 18, 5th-grade students in Ms. Rachelle Hugg’s music class celebrated a successful runthrough of the xylophone and glockenspiel piece they will perform at next month’s Elementary School Christmas Concert. See more photos.

More than 100 alumni and former staff and faculty members representing seven decades of TASIS history gathered at the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C., for an exciting all-class reunion on the evening of November 18. Read a recap and see photos.

At a special assembly hosted by the TASIS Athletics Department on the afternoon of November 29, former World Cup winner and Premier League star Cesc Fàbregas spoke to the entire High School and helped present this fall’s athletics awards.
The Elementary School welcomed Dr. Sulin—an experienced math and science teacher, writer, and trainer from Singapore—for three days of professional development on November 28–30. Dr. Sulin led workshops on a number of areas related to the Singapore Math program, which the Elementary School has employed with great success since it opened in 2005.
