After returning in a limited capacity in 2021, the TASIS Summer Programs in Lugano, Switzerland, are now all the way back, with 700 students from 55 nations set to come to campus for either Session One (June 25–July 21) or Session Two (July 24–August 13). A total of 240 boarding students from three different divisions—Le Château des Enfants (CDE), which comprises ages 4–10 with the option to board beginning at age six; the Middle School Program (MSP), ages 11–13; and the High School Program (TSP), ages 14–18—arrived throughout the day on Saturday, June 25, and they were joined by an additional 120 day students two days later.
The evening before Opening Day, directors, teachers, counselors, and their families gathered on the Villa de Nobili terrace for a delicious dinner and the always-popular Staff Talent Show. Guided by the Dedicated Performing Arts Teams (DPAT), summer staff members shared a variety of impressive talents, highlights of which can be viewed below.
Following some local hikes and activities on campus on Sunday, students began their academic classes on Monday morning. The primary academic offerings for Session One include English as an Additional Language, Intensive French, Academic Writing, Digital Photography & Filmmaking, Architecture & Design, Fine Art Portfolio, Musical Theater, and Lean Startup Masterclass for HSP; English as an Additional Language, Intensive French, Italian, STEAM, Digital Photography, and Musical Theater for MSP; and English as an Additional Language, French, or STEAM for CDE.
Afternoons are generally reserved for activity tracks—including Milan Academy Scuola Calcio, Olympia Milano Basketball Club, Crossfit, tennis, golf, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, hiking, and swimming—while most evenings are spent enjoying structured activities with friends. Students will also have ample opportunities throughout the summer to explore Switzerland and beyond through a robust offering of day and overnight trips to exciting destinations such as Andermatt, the Italian Riviera, Milan, Monaco, Nice, Rome, Venice, and Zermatt.
