Enjoy the Inspiring Senior Banquet Speeches

Students from the Class of 2018 and their families gathered in the Palestra on the evening of May 25 for the time-honored tradition of the TASIS Senior Banquet, which is held each year on the eve of the School’s Commencement Ceremony.

Following cocktails on the MCF Piazza, a performance of Fiddler on the Roof’s “Sabbath Prayer” (sung by Ethan Fredericksen ’18, Veronica Oliani ’18, Sabrina Murray-Bruce ’18, Ivan Semashev ’18, and Francis Accilien ’19),
and a gourmet meal—turmeric-perfumed broccoli and chia seeds vegan timbale, seared shrimptail on mango chutney, delicate beef fillet in wine sauce, and more—Senior Banquet emcees Can Basaran ’18 and Shiva Mirchandani ’18 took to the podium and warmed up the audience for the evening’s program.

The dynamic duo then introduced this year’s excellent lineup of Senior Speakers: Anastasia Kolesnikova, Noah Plues, Paloma Lazzarino, and Nicola Barbieri. Watch their poignant speeches below.

Following a lovely performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” (sung by Serena Bardi '18 and Nathalie Groet '18 and accompanied by faculty member Eric Walser on guitar and mandolin), Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff delivered an inspiring closing address before inviting guests to the Monticello Terrace for strawberries and spumante.
