A Letter from the TPA President

Dear TASIS Parents and Community,

Thank you for a very special year! Where did the time go? We had a shorter school year, but we were able to accomplish so much! A BIG thank you to all parents—whether you were able to volunteer and contribute in person or give your time in other ways. Your participation is truly valued and appreciated. With every event, fundraiser, and meeting, we brought our community closer together and brought joy to our children. They are the very reason we give our time to the TPA—to be good role models to them and to serve the community they thrive in.

This year the TPA promoted a “reduce, reuse, recycle” initiative by increasing used uniform sales, adding reusable water bottles to our fundraising sales, and eliminating over 95% of the disposable cups used at our events. We held our first High School “Healthy Smoothies Bar” fundraiser to encourage wellness and donated the leftover fruits/veggie compost to the school. We also held our first-ever “Friendsgiving” dinner to celebrate this cherished American tradition. We helped the student service-learning groups raise more than CHF 6000 to their causes through the Holiday Market. We have celebrated and laughed with the TASIS Faculty and Staff over Halloween Brunch, Family Weekend cocktails, Thanksgiving dinner, and Christmas vin brulè. We have honored the diversity of our community during International Week and helped our children feel proud of their heritage by wearing a tattoo of their flag.

This year has had its twists and turns but they have not deterred us. We held tight to our traditions. We gave our applause to teachers and staff from around the world virtually. Parents sent videos of gratitude from Argentina to Abu Dhabi while our children here cheered from their car windows and sunroofs at our recent Teacher’s Appreciation Car Parade. The TPA’s strength is in our unity and determination to create a fabulous environment for our children. We can all be very proud!

To that end, we hope that next year even more of you will volunteer, participate, and join in on the fun! Please click here to see the current members of the TPA and a list of open positions for next year. And please send an email to if you would like to be considered for any of these leadership roles or would like to volunteer as an Elementary School room parent.

This year we also started a new Instagram page: @tasis_tpa_lugano. This page welcomes all to see photos shared by many involved with TASIS as a parent, teacher, or student. ou can also find information regarding TPA on our webpage,

Thank you all again for making the most of a difficult year. We have so much to look forward to, and I can’t wait to see you in September!

Warm Regards,

Jennifer Zanarini
TPA President
