TASIS Snow Policy

Snowfalls make the TASIS campus beautiful, but transportation becomes messy! Please make note of the snow and inclement weather policy below.

TASIS, like the public schools of the Collina d'Oro, has decided to remain open today. We realize that our day students come from all over Lugano and beyond. Given that weather and road conditions can vary dramatically across the region, decisions regarding day student transportation to and from school always remain with parents. We respect parents' decisions.

Given our large proportion of boarding students, classes in the Middle and High Schools will continue even during inclement weather. If parents notify reception promptly, students who arrive late, leave early, or miss an entire day due to inclement weather will be excused. Teachers will work with students to cover missed material or make-up assignments.

The Elementary School will generally follow the lead of the public Scuola Elementare della Collina d'Oro, closing if transportation becomes too treacherous. News of a school closing will be posted on the main TASIS calendar as soon as a decision is made.
