Admissions
Over 50 years ago, Mrs. M. Crist Fleming had the vision to bring the best of American boarding school education to the heart of Europe when she founded TASIS in 1956. As her dream of a truly global village of learners came to be shared by students from over 50 different countries, TASIS quickly became known as one of the leading boarding schools in Europe.
A TASIS education is rich in challenge and opportunity. Challenges in the classroom, in the art studios, on the sports fields; opportunities for travel, leadership, and lifelong friendships. I invite you to share in the TASIS experience.
I hope that your school search brings you to our beautiful campus of historic buildings in the hillside surroundings of Lugano, so you can discover first hand what makes TASIS such a special place.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site. I hope that these pages help you get a sense of TASIS, and prove to be a useful tool in guiding you through the application process. If you find that your questions are not answered here, please feel free to contact the admissions office directly.
Sincerely,
William E. Eichner

TASIS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges and the European Council of International Schools. The American School in Switzerland (TASIS) welcomes students with sufficient academic interest and motivation to benefit from the program and expects applicants to be of sufficient maturity for their age to accept their responsibilities as a school citizen. We encourage candidates to visit the school, or, if this is not possible, to meet with a TASIS representative at another TASIS campus or at the U.S. office. The school awards financial aid on the basis of need and merit, and a request for financial aid will have no effect on the evaluation of the student for entrance to TASIS.
