Ten TASIS runners took advantage of ideal racing conditions to post ten individual season-best times and capture both team titles at the 2017 TASIS Cross Country Invitational.
Raffaella Alencar Barros '19 won her first individual championship of the season with a time of 22:15 over the 4.9-km TASIS Grotto Course. Lyla Thompson '20 and Katie Kelly '19 also raced to podium finishes, earning the 2nd and 3rd place individual medals with times of 24:43 and 25:15. Zoe Wang '20 (25:31) was the final TASIS scorer for the girls, finishing in 4th place with an almost two-minute improvement over her previous best. Nina Gardner '19 and Megan Chen '20 finished in 28:37 and 37:09.
Harrison Reed '19 was again the top finisher for the TASIS boys, earning a third-place medal with a season-best time of 19:45. Following Harrison through the finish chute in 4th and 5th place overall were Denis Breus '20 and Mihkel Vips '21 with times of 20:29 and 21:45. Oleg Zabolontev '21, competing in his first-ever cross country race, was the final TASIS final team scorer, finishing in 8th place overall with a time of 24:53.
