February 7, 2014 was a special evening in Moscow - the first TASIS alumni reunion in Russia! The date was chosen to celebrate the opening of the XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi. We'd like to say a big 'спасибо' to TASIS parent Vlada Veligodskaya and her assistant Evgenia for finding such a charming venue and arranging such a delicious buffet, plus a big screen for the live broadcast of the Olympic Opening Ceremony which started at 20:14 local time. We'd also like to thank Emily McKee (TASIS Associate Director of Admissions) for the great idea. (Which means: get ready for Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020!) Twenty alumni joined us for this special evening, a few of whom flew in specially. They enjoyed Bill Eichner's account of how the Russian students are performing at TASIS today. The consensus was that they seem too well-behaved to be real Russians, and naturally led to reminiscences of misdemeanors in the past, many of which featured Bora da Besa… . With the foreseen growth of TASIS’s alumni community in Russia, we’ll be back for more reunions in Moscow soon!
