The grand opening of the John E. Palmer Cultural Center was the perfect weekend to hold the Class of 2000’s 10-year reunion. We were all very excited to return to campus and rekindle our friendships. For many this was their first time back since graduation. For former drama students Monica Dedich, Christina Miles, and Paolo Andrade it was a good chance to attend the opening of the new theater and to pay tribute to their mentor Kay Hamblin, one of the faculty honorees.

The party continued at Kaveh’s favorite restaurant in Castagnola, where we watched the sun rise over a wonderful pasta breakfast. The weekend came to a close with lunch at Pizza Mary’s in Lugano on Sunday. Over delicious pizza, we rehashed the weekend’s events and promised not to wait another 10 years to meet again. Afterward, Tati Kiefer, Mayce Aljazara, Ashley Taylor, Christiane Deniger, Chris Weber and wife Julia, and Ali Matack and husband Mike joined us for the ‘Serata Ticinese’ theme dinner in the Villa De Nobili.

Kaveh Boghraty paid us a surprise visit and later hosted us in his apartment for an after dinner party. Corrado Agusta and Milos Markovic arrived on Saturday night for dinner and dancing at the Black and White Gala in the Palestra. Newlyweds Tatiana Lucchini and Lorenzo boogied on the dance floor, while Monica Dedich took center stage during a Beyonce number. Classes of 2000 alumni joined in on the campus festivities, and hosted some of their own activities as well. Jack Savoretti’s moving concert kick-started an amazing weekend.
